IT'S WEEK NINE....AND I STILL LOVE OWEN DANIELS!!!

My wife asked today, "How much longer does Fantasy Football go on?"  It shocked me...and her, that there are eight more weeks left!  To the chagrin of wives everywhere, we're only half-way home.
My question to you is this, Are there any players that you started out the year loving, and you won't let go - no matter what?  Like Kevin Smith.  I thought he'd have more fantasy points than Jahvid Best and then he splits carries in Week Nine.  Even though he's given Best a 78 point lead, I was still looking at him on the Waiver Wire.  Owen Daniels - has one good, not great, game and I'm ready to drop all my Tight Ends for him.  Rex Grossman, I'm with Shanahan, let's annoint him the starter!  We said since Day One he should be the starting QB!  There are some players that I won't let stats, performance or being sacked 27 times (Hello, Mr. Cutler) get in the way of my love for them!  So, I hold out hope.  Eight more weeks for My Guys to produce!  C'mon Ryan Matthews!
BUCCANEERS VS FALCONS
Sure, these teams are both 5-2, but between them there is only one victory against a team that is over .500!  Atlanta is favored by eight in our DAVID VS GOLIATH game (rockonfootball.lexy.com), but Tampa has won five straight road games.
1) The Falcons have better fantasy players at every position!
2) The Falcons rushing offense is the 5th best in the NFL while the Bucs are 30th (149.5 yds/ game) agains the rush! Uh oh!
3) Mike Williams has 4 TDs this year, and the Falcons passing defense is 27th in the league!
4) A ton of those yards (738)  against the Falcons came in the last two weeks when Dunta Robinson was out.  He's back!
5) Matt Ryan has thrown at least two touchdowns in 4 out of seven games.
6) Ernest Graham is still not practicing!
7) LaGarette Blount is already the Bucs leading rusher, but he gets a real test this week.

BEARS VS BILLS
Chicago is 31st in INT thrown, 30th in total yards on offense, 29th in rushing yards and has a 17.9% success rate on third down.  The Bills have lost the last two games in overtime.
1) Matt Forte has had his best games against Detroit (worst vs. the RB) and Carolina (9th worst vs. the RB).  The Bills give us 188.7 yards/game on the ground (2nd worst in NFL)
2) The Bills have given up 6 TDs in the last 4 games to opposing TEs.  Greg Olsen has had only 8 catches for 82 yards in the last four games.
3) Steve Johnson has had at least 9 targets every game for the last five and scored five weeks in a row, but the Bears defense has not given up more than 23 points this year!
4) So far, Mike Martz has had 246 pass plays and 156 running plays.
5) Chicago sports radio has said Earl Bennet is the Bears best receiver!
6) I have a 44 ouncer that Earl Bennet will outscore Lee Evans!

PATRIOTS VS BROWNS
The Patriots were #1 in the U.S.A. Today Power Rankings.  They seem to be the worst 6-1 team I can remember, while the Browns are a solid 2-5 team.
1) Tom Brady, over the last three weeks, has been the 19th ranked QB - averaging only 9 points a game.  The Browns have given up 13 passing TDs this year.
2) BenJarvis Green-Ellis has scored in each of the last five games.  The Browns have only given up one rushing TD all year.
3) Colt McCoy is starting again.
4) Ben Watson is his Tight End.  New England is 4th worst against the TE this year.
DOC'S PICK=PATRIOTS     TBONE'S PICK=PATRIOTS

JETS VS LIONS
This would seems to be a mismatch.  5-2 Jets vs 2-5 Lions.  But, here's another 2-5 team that has played solid!
1) Jericho Cotchery had 13 targets last week.
2) Dustin Keller had 17 catches in three games before Santonio Holmes.  In the three games since, he's had 7.
3) Mark Sanchez has had four picks in the last two games.
4) None of that could matter because the Lions have been getting better against the pass, but are still the worst team in the NFL against the RB!
5) The Jets give up some yards through the air...and Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson hooked-up for 3 TDs last week.
6) Matthew Stafford has a very nice schedule for the fantasy play-offs, as far as weather goes!
7) Kevin Smith and Jahvid Best are now sharing carries!

SAINTS VS PANTHERS
The Saints look like they're back after beating the Steelers.  The Panthers look like.....well, let's not say!
1) Pierre Thomas still has a boot on.
2) Reggie Bush did practice some on Thursday, but don't get too excited about him playing.
3) Last week, Julius Jones had the most carries and the most yards.
4) This matters because the Panthers give up 17.6 pts/game to RBs.
5) I've got Julius Jones as a Top 20 RB this week for my Hail Mary!
6) DeAngelo Williams is out again.  You'd think Jonathan Stewart owners would be excited...until they realize he was out last week too!
7) Steve Smith and Matt Moore clicked at the end of the year last year.  And Smith has averaged 11.5 targets the last two games.  But only 2 WR have scored TDs against the Saints this year.  They are the best team in the NFL against the WR.
DOC'S PICK=SAINTS     TBONE'S PICK=SAINTS

DOLPHINS VS RAVENS
Miami still has not lost on the road.  The Ravens are coming off a bye!
1) Brandon Marshall has the 5th most targets in the last 4 weeks, and has had two games in a row with 5 catches, but he's only seen the endzone once this year.
2) Ronnie and Ricky have had only one rush of over 18 yards all year.
3) Dan Carpenter is their best scorer - 5 FG in each of the last two games!
4) Joe Flacco has the second highest QB rating in the last 5 games - 9TD and 1,249 yards.
5) Miami stops the run (4th best against RB) but is average against the pass.
DOC'S PICK=DOLPHINS     TBONE'S PICK=RAVENS

CHARGERS VS TEXANS
Each of these teams could really use a win.  The Chargers are coming off a big victory over Tennessee.  The Texans are coming off a big loss to the Colts.
1) Floyd, Naanee and Davis are all out.  Patrick Crayton and Seyi Ajirotutu are in!  Who is Ajirotutu?
2) Phillip Rivers is on pace to break a whole bunch of passing records....the Texans are here to help him!
3) Vincent Jackson started to practice, and they say it looks like he never left.  He never should have.
4) Before Week Eight, Tolbert was getting 12 carries inside the 10, compared to Matthews 3.  In Week Eight, Tolbert got one, Matthews got 2.  However, Norv Turner said he likes how his Running Back situation looks right now.  Can you say, three-headed monster?
5) The Chargers have only given up 5 Rushing TDs and 8 Passing.
6) Owen Daniels was still not practicing on Thursday which is a shame since the Chargers average giving up 9 points a game to TEs.
DOC'S PICK=CHARGERS     TBONE'S PICK=TEXANS

CARDINALS VS VIKINGS
Not sure if you heard, but the Vikings cut Randy Moss after only two games...and one bad catering experience!
1) Larry Fitzgerald has had 9 targers or more in every game the last four weeks.  Last week he had his best game of the year.
2) Steve Breaston had 11 targets last week.
3) Derick Anderson is the starter this week!
4) Tim Hightower had 0 carries and 1 reception last week.  Before you Beanie Wells owners get too happy - LaRod Stephens-Howling had 10 fantasy points!
5) Arizona is averaging more than 29 points scored against them on the road.
6) Adrian Peterson's workload has been cut into a little bit by Toby Gerheart, and they were talking about maybe have AD return kicks.
7) Sidney Rice said he was very sore after practicing and that he won't come back until he's got all his conditioning back.  This could be a while!
DOC'S PICK=VIKINGS     TBONE'S PICK=CARDINALS

GIANTS VS SEAHAWKS
The Giants are coming off a bye.  The Seahawks pretty much gave the Raiders a bye last week, but have averaged giving up only 12 points per game at home.
1) Hakeem Nicks has had the most targets in the last five weeks!
2) New York has held the last five teams its played to less than 65 yards rushing.
3) Last week, Marshawn Lynch had 9 carries for 7 yards.
4) Hasselbeck is out, Whitehurst is in!
5) Is it just me or does Matt Hasselbeck look like MegaMind?
6) Mike Williams had the third most targets in the last 4 weeks.
7) Doc's Hail Mary was that Charlie Whitehurst would be a Top 10 QB this week.  He hasn't been very accurate on these!
DOC'S PICK=GIANTS     TBONE'S PICK=GIANTS

COLTS VS EAGLES
The Eagles are 11-0 after a bye with Andy Reid!  The Colts win all the time!
1) Collie is practicing, Addai is not and Donald Brown didn't play a lot in the second half last week because of coach's decision.
2) Mike Hart is also on the injury report (ankle)
3) It may not matter.  The Eagles, in the last three weeks, have held Frank Gore, Michael Turner, and Chris Johnson to under 3 yards/carry.
4) In the same three games they've given up 8 passing TDs.
5) Last week, Tamme had 9 targets and 6 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.
6) Michael Vick is back....funny that got no press this week!  DeSean Jackson should be too!
7) In three games with Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy has 13, 30, and 5 points.  He has had 80 yards in his last 32 carries.
DOC'S PICK= COLTS     TBONE'S PICK=EAGLES

CHIEFS VS RAIDERS
The Chiefs have only given up 122 points all year.  In the last two games, the Raiders have scored 92.
1) Matt Cassell has the highest QB rating in the last 5 games.  Yes, Matt Cassell!
2) Nmandi may be out!
3) The Raiders are the 5th worst against the RB!
4) Last week, both Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones went off.
5) TBone is reporting that Jason Campbell is starting.  Doc is reporting the Bruce Gradkowski is back.  You'll have to wait and see.
6) Zach Miller may be out with an arch problem.  I love the Golden Arches!
7) Michael Bush has 4 TDs in the last 5 games.
DOC'S PICK=RAIDERS    TBONE'S PICK=CHIEFS

COWBOYS VS PACKERS
Seriously, this is the Sunday night game - the one game I get to watch all week!
1) Felix Jones did not practice on Wednesday - watch him.
2) Miles Austin practiced his concentrating - how do you do that?
3) The Packers have allowed a #1 WR to either get 80 yards or a touchdown in each of the last four weeks.
4) Green Bay has only given up 8 Passing TDs and 4 Rushing TDs.
5) Donald Driver, after two 0 catch weeks, is finally out!
6) Dallas has given up 76 points, and eight TD passes, the last two weeks.
7) TBone predicted James Jones would have at least one TD this week.
DOC'S PICK=PACKERS     TBONE'S PICK=PACKERS

STEELERS VS BENGALS
Steelers =  2 loses.  Bengals = 2 wins.  Quite a difference from last year!
1) "The Sharder" before Ben = 19,20,6,19 points.  After Ben=15,3,14 points
2) "The Sharder" averages 4.4 yards/carry on the road and 3.8 at home.
3) Carson Palmer has a 60.6 Passer Rating at home.
4) Pittsburgh has only given up 6 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs all year.
DOC'S PICK=STEELERS     TBONE'S PICK=STEELERS
