ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL, I LEARNED IN WEEK EIGHT!

Matthew Berry, from www.espn.com, in his weekly "Love/Hate" column basically wrote that it was too cheesy for him to use a Halloween theme even though all these games are being played on October 31st.  Well, I'm definitely no where close to the TMR as far as talent goes, and I've never had a problem with being cheesy!  So, here' one player from each game in Week Eight and if they will be a TRICK or TREAT for the rest of the year (I think you'll get it as you read on!).

49ers 24 Broncos 16 - Kyle Orton TREAT
This was his first game over 300 yards in the last three, and two out of the last three he's had only 1 touchdown.  But, he's consistently getting 12-15 fantasy points and his fantasy play-off opponents are the Cardinals and Raiders and Texans.  Two things concern me: Tim Tebow.  I'm not sure how this is possible as a Quarterback, but he's a touchdown vulture.  And with only two wins, the Broncos may not be in playoff contention come fantasy playoff time -does that mean Tebow gets a shot?

Jags 35 Dallas 17 - David Garrard TRICK
He had four touchdowns passing and 1 rushing.  He has the legs to do that every week, but he doesn't have the receivers.  Do you really think Mike Sims-Walker will ever have 153 yards again?  This came against a Dallas team that is too worried about being a star than the Star on their helmet.  Don't do anything crazy here!

Dolphins 22 Bengals 14 - Brandon Marshall TRICK
I'm gonna trick you on this trick.  Follow along.  Brandon Marshall has only had one touchdown ths season.  There is no way that holds up for the second half.  He has 8 red zone targets this year (the leading receiver has 11).  His yards haven't been eye-popping, but with a few more touchdowns he'd be in the Top 10 WR

Chiefs 13 Bills 10 - Steve Johnson TREAT
Since Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the starter, Steve Johnson has scored every week. He has 6 touchdowns and is a Top 15 WR right now.  How can you not start this guy....and while you're at it, how could you not start Ryan Fitzpatrick?  He had 43 rushing yards today!

Lions 37 Redskins 25 - Kevin Smith TREAT
For anyone who's listened to the podcast, you know I was going to say TREAT because I've been touting him since the preseason; however, he has done nothing but put up yards whenever he gets the ball.  He's averaging 4.5 yards per carry and coming off the bye he shares carries with Jahvid Best - hmmmmmm!
Bonus TREAT (like the house that just says, "Take a handful") - Matthew Stafford and Rex Grossman (jk)

Rams 20 Panthers 10 - Brandon LaFell TREAT (but like a Hershey's bar)
Last week, LaFell has 6 targets, 6 catches and 90 yards.  This week, his targets go up by two, he only has 4 catches and 40 yards, but scores a touchdown.  The Panthers have liked him since training camp and that running game is awful.  Don't expect huge numbers, but he might be a fantasy playa' depending on the week.

Packers 9 Jets 0 - Shonn Greene TRICK
Anyone who was holding out hope that Shonn Greene would come around is either a lot more faith-filled than I or crazy!  He's only had one game over 57 yards this year and only scored 1 TD.  We're talking half the year already - let it go!
P.S. Am I the only one who loves these 9-0 games?

Chargers 33 Titans 25 - Ryan Matthews TRICK
Not that anyone was starting him at this point, but Ryan Matthews finally gave you some o.k. fantasy numbers.  Only problem - he's not even the best running back on his real team, much less your fantasy team.  Mike Tolbert is averaging 4.6 yds/carry to his 4.4 and Tolbert has 7 TDs to his 2.  As much as I hate to say this, you pretty much have to keep him on your team, but it may only be for water boy purposes.

Patriots 28 Vikings 18 - Danny Woodhead TREAT (like a Tootsie Roll)
In four out of his last five games he's had 10 or 11 fantasy points.  He's consistent!  Again, he's not going to be a guy who ever racks up 25 points, but you can almost count on his ten.

Bucs 38 Cardinals 35 - LaGarrette Blount TREAT
He's had two games as the featured back - one o.k. game...and this one!  If he averages nine yards a carry and two touchdowns for the rest of the year the Bucs may just be the best team in the NFC.  Let's not get too crazy, this was against the Cardinals, but you have to like  what we've seen so far.  Their schedule is kind of tough, until the fantasy play-offs when they get Washington, Detroit and Seattle in Tampa.
P.S. For all of you who had the chance to get Mike Williams off the Waiver Wire and didn't, may God forgive you!

Raiders 33 Seahawks 3 - The Raider's Offense TREAT
Besides the first two weeks (and a hiccup against the 49ers) this team has averaged over 30 points a game (obviously 59 helps the average).  We'll see what happens against Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Miami, and San Diego.  But, if you can ride that out with your Raiders - the playoffs look good: Jacksonville, Denver and Oakland.

Saints 20 Steelers 10 - Julius Jones TRICK
If you look up TRICK in the dictionary, it is Julius Jones.  I can't tell you how many times I've believed in this guy only to have him kick me in the Jones!  He did look like the best RB in New Orleans, and if Thomas and Bush never come back, he might be their #1 guy, but I wouldn't bet on any of those happening.

THINGS ARE GOING SO WELL, I HATE TO RUIN IT WITH OUR BAD FANTASY KNOWLEDGE!

In the last week, the fine people from Lexy.com have given us the Feature Podcast spot for 24 hours, they've helped us with some of our sound issues, and we've had an interview with an ESPN employee.  This Rock On Football thing was going so good.....and now we have to show our lack of fantasy knowledge!  Well remember though, our job is to just give you what we know and our opinions.  IT'S YOUR TEAM!  I'll give you what I think, but you go out and have a little fun in Week #8!
PACKERS VS JETS
1) Reevis has been beaten for three touchdowns this year...and is still getting treatment for his hamstring.
2) A lot of people think you can't pass on the Jets, but so far they've given up 1,400 yards and 10 TDs.
3) The Jets are coming off the bye, and their defense is healthy!
4) Donald Driver's thigh was hurt last week and he's still not practicing.  Meanwhile, James Jones had 4 catches for 107 yards (and eight targets).
5) Donald Lee only had two catches for 27 yards without Finley!
6) Mark Sanchez has only two interceptions this year.
7) Green Bay is 6th best vs. the RB and 17th best vs. the WR.
DOC'S PICK = JETS     TBONE'S PICK = JETS

BRONCOS VS 49ERS
1) Brandon Lloyd has had at least one catch of 20 yards or more in each game.
2) Kyle Orton has had two straight games without 300 yards.
3) The Broncos are starting to run more with Knowshon back.
4) Unfortunately, Knowshon was grabbing his hammy Wednesday after practice.  Josh McDaniels says he's fine!
5) Josh McDaniels says a lot of stuff.
6) Kyle Orton's fantasy numbers haven't changed with our without Knowshon.
7) Denver has allowed a 100 yard rusher in each of the last three games.
8) Troy Smith and Ted Ginn have been BFFs since they were kids.
9) Troy Smith has not started since 2007.
DOC'S PICK = 49ERS     TBONE'S PICK = BRONCOS

JAGUARS VS COWBOYS
1) MJD has had one 100 yard rushing game this year (and one 98 yarder)
2) MJD has had 6 consecutive road games without a TD or 100 yard game.
3) Garrard looks like he will start - does it really matter to you?
4) Jon Kitna was the sixth ranked fantasy Quarterback in 2006 when he started for the Lions.
5) Jon Kitna is facing the 28th ranked Jags D!
6) Felix Jones should get the ball more - the Jags are 26th vs. the RB!
DOC'S PICK = COWBOYS     TBONE'S PICK = COWBOYS

DOLPHINS VS BENGALS
1) Ronnie Brown averaged 5.4 yds/carry in the first three games - the last three = 2.9.
2) Bengals are 18th against the run.
3) The Dolphins only have 10 TDs in 6 games.  And Ricky and Ronnie have only 1 apiece!
4) It has been almost a year since Carson Palmer through 3 TD passes!
5) He does have T.O., Ochocinco, and The Ship (I needed a nickname) to go along with Jermaine Grisham.
6) The Dolphins do average giving up 100 yards against the run.
DOC'S PICK=BENGALS     TBONE'S PICK=DOLPHINS

PANTHERS VS RAMS
1) The Rams have given up less than 18 points in 6 of their 7 games.
2) Carolina has not had a 100 yard rusher this year - TBone says that ends this week.
3) David Gettis did have 8 catches for 125 yards, but Brandon LaFell had 6 for 91 (If you want to hear that stat a lot, listen to the podcast below!)
4) David Gettis only had 10 catches for 119 yards total before last week.
5) Hoomnawanuai stold all Billy Bajema's targets last week.
6) You may have to watch Steven Jackson on the injury list.  Pick up Kenneth Darby if you can!
DOC'S PICK=PANTHERS     TBONE'S PICK=PANTHERS

REDSKINS VS LIONS
1) Donovan McNabb has not been very good this year - 6 TDs, 7 INTs!
2) The Lions pass defense is getting better!
3) Santana Moss is having the best year of his career, and Anthony Armstrong is consistently getting 40 yards per week.
4) I like one of those guys to have a good game!
5) Ryan Torrain is going to be solid again!
6) Matthew Stafford only had two games last year in which I would have started him on my fantasy team.
7) Doc and I asked the question, "Is it possible that he is worse than Shaun Hill?"
8) I would recommend that he looks at where D.Hall is at all times!
9) Jahvid's toe will probably be hurt all year, but CBS is saying that his burst is back!
10) Jason Hansen has 7 FG of 47 or more yards this year! (My first kicker reference...it won't be my last!)
DOC'S PICK=REDSKINS     TBONE'S PICK=LIONS

BILLS VS CHIEFS
1) Ryan Fitzpatrick wears his wedding ring during every game.  Fantasy relevance = none!  Big fan of marriage relevance = a ton!
2) The Bills have scored 30, 14, 26 and 34 points in their last four games.
3) Last week they had 506 yards against Baltimore.
4) Chan Gailey is known for offense.
5) Steve Johnson has 4 TDs in the last three games!
6) KC has the #1 Rushing attack in the NFL (176.5 yards/game).  The Bills are #32 against the rush (174.5 yards/game given up).  Uh oh!!!
7) Thomas Jones has 41 touches with 10 in the Red Zone the last two weeks.  Jamaal Charles has 35 with 1.  I still like Jamaal Charles to have 2 TDs this week.
8) Bowe and Cassel have had their two best weeks of the year in Weeks 6 and 7.
9) They were facing the two worst passing defenses.
10) Although their schedule is good for the rest of the year, it ain't that good!
DOC'S PICK=CHIEFS     TBONE'S PICK=CHIEFS

TITANS VS CHARGERS
1) Kenny Brit was held out for over a quarter and had 225 yards and 3 touchdowns.
2) Arian Foster was held out for over a quarter and had over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.
3) Coaches, pay attention!
4) Brit and Chris Johnson both have 7 touchdowns this year!
5) The Titans have forced 11 turnovers and are the 4th ranked fantasy D right now!
6) The Chargers won 42-17 last year.
7) This year the Chargers don't have Vincent Jackson, Malcolm Floyd, Legadu Naanee, LT or a healthy Antonio Gates.
8) Ryan Matthews - nah!  Tennessee is 10th best against the RB!
DOC'S PICK=CHARGERS     TBONE'S PICK=TITANS

VIKINGS VS PATRIOTS
1) Brad Childress said he won't let the streak determine if Brett plays.
2) Sidney Rice only has three more weeks to get on the field or he goes on IR.  He's not even practicing yet.
3) Randy Moss used to play for the Patriots.
4) In the last two games without Moss, Hernandez has twelve points, Welker -7, Branch-18, and Tate-2.
5) Last week, Woodhead and Green-Ellis both got the same amount of work.
6) When the Patriots were really good you never knew who was going to get the ball.
7) Tom Brady has won 23 straight home starts.
DOC'S PICK=PATRIOTS     TBONE'S PICK=PATRIOTS

SEAHAWKS VS RAIDERS
1) Russel Okung is out again.  I feel sorry for him!
2) Mike Williams has 21 receptions in the last two weeks.
3) I predict Mike Williams will be a Top 10 WR this week.
4) The Raiders have given up 14 TD passes this year.
5) Marshawn Lynch as been getting most of the carries.
6) The Raiders have given up 972 yards on the ground.
7) There is a chance Bruce Gradkowski plays.  Tom Cable says if he practices on Friday, he plays on Sunday.  Can they score more than 59?
8) Oakland has not won consecutive games since 2008.
DOC'S PICK=SEAHAWKS     TBONE'S PICK=RAIDERS

BUCCANEERS VS CARDINALS
1) Every week I have to check how to spell "Buccaneers"
2) LaGarrette Blount is the best back in Tampa I guess.  Not sure it's a big deal.
3) Josh Freeman has five 4th Quarter comebacks already.  Not really fantasy relevant, but real relevant.
4) Steve Breaston is back!
5) Tim Hightower did not get any snaps after he fumbled last week.
6) Beanie Wells could get his first start.
7) The Bucs have given up 946 yards on the ground - remember Chris Ivory.
8) Max Hall is back!
9) The Cardinals only have three passing touchdowns all year.
10) If you're looking ahead - the Cardinals play Denver, Carolina and Dallas during the fantasy play-offs!
DOC'S PICK=BUCS     TBONE'S PICK=CARDINALS

STEELERS VS SAINTS
1) "The Sharder" only had 15 carries last week.  Melwede Moore has 10 touches.
2) Ever since Big Ben came back they pass more.
3) Brees had three INTs last week.  Two of them were by David Bowens.
4) Drew Brees had a kid last week.  His name........Bowen.
5) The Steelers have only given up 6 TDs all year.
6) Bush, Thomas - probably out.  Ivory in!  But, it's the Steelers.
DOC'S PICK=SAINTS    TBONE'S PICK=STEELERS

TEXANS VS COWBOYS
1) For a complete breakdown of this game, go to: rockonfootball.lexy.com!
2) The Texans have scored TDs in 12 of the 17 times they've been in the Red Zone.  That's best in the league.
3) The Texans have also let the other team score TDs 16 out of the 20 times they've been in the Red Zone.  That's worst in the league.
4) Arian Foster had 231 yards in Week One!
5) Collie is out.  Clark is out!  Addai may be out!  You've got to watch Brown and Reggie Wayne!  If this were any other team you wouldn't give them a chance.
6) The Colts are favored by five!
7) Houston's Defense is 31st overall and 32 against the pass.
DOC'S PICK=COLTS     TBONE'S PICK=COLTS

HAIL MARYS: Jon Kitna will be a Top 10 QB (DOC) / Ronnie Brown will be a Top 20 RB (TBONE)
44 OZ. WAGERS: Jon Kitna (DOC) will have more fantasy points than Matthew Stafford (TBONE) this week.

WE ARE SOOOOOO WRONG!!!

Let's start off with a Pop Quiz shall we? I'll give you a name, and you tell me what NFL team this person plays for. Ready?
1) Jackie Battle? 2) Marcell Reese? 3) Riley Cooper?
ANSWERS AT BOTTOM OF BLOG
These are actual people in the NFL....and each of them wound up in the Top 25 of their position for Week 7. Do you see why ranking players is so difficult. Some of them you never even knew existed! With that, here's my updated Chart on how I'm doing as a Ranker:

*** = I picked names out of a hat.
The scores reflected are total points and # of spots, on the average, I was wrong about any individual player. To get my points, I rank the Top 20 QBs, Top 20 RBs and WRs, and the Top 25 TEs. Then, I find the difference of where they finished for the week (on ESPN scoring) compared to where I ranked them. If I did not have them in the Top 20, 50, 25 and they finished there, I take the next available spot, 21,51 or 26 and add the difference to my score.
ANSWERS: Jackie Battle - Chiefs, Marcell Reese - Raiders, Riley Cooper - Eagles

Now, that you've seen my cool new blog tricks (like the chart?), let's talk about our.....
HAIL MARYS
Each week, on the podcast, we make a bold statement about something we think might happen in the upcoming games.  They are intended to be bold, and they are intended to be something that would be shocking if it really came true.  Well, before the season started, way before it started in some cases, we would make these Hail Marys about the upcoming year and looking back, it's quite comical.  So, we thought, at the half-way point of the fantasy year it might be kind of cool to look at some of the things we said.  You'll laugh at some...and be amazed at the wisdoom God has given us on others.......
DOC'S COMICAL STATEMENTS
1) Matt Leinart will be a Top 10 QB!
2) Mike Singletary will be coach of the year!
3) Ryan Grant will have his best fantasy season ever!
4) Brent Celek will be better than Antonio Gates in fantasy points!
5) Anthony Gonzalez will be the #2 WR in Indy!
6) Roddy White will finish outside the Top 10 WR!
TBONE'S COMICAL STATEMENTS
1) MJD will be the #1 RB!
2) Jay Cutler will be a Top 5 QB!
3) Charlie Whitehurst will have more fantasy points than Matt Hasselback!
4) Jonathan Stewart will have more than 10 TDs this year!
5) Antonio Bryant will have more fantasy points than Ochocinco!
6) Vincent Jackson will play 13 games!
7) Kevin Smith will have more fantasy points than Jahvid Best this year!
8) Jabar Gafney will be a Top 20 WR!
9) Brent Celek will be a Top 2 TE!

OK, now before you call us idiots, see what else God has done, and remember, these were made months before the season started....
DOC'S WISE BOLD STATEMENTS
1) LT will be a Top 10 RB!
2) Steve Smith, NYG, will not be a Top 20 WR this year!
3) Derek Anderson will take over in Arizona!
4) Brett Favre will not be a Top 10 QB!
5) Pierre Thomas will have less fantasy points than last year!
6) Malcolm Floyd will have more fantasy points than Vincent Jackson!

Pretty good huh?  To see all of our Hail Marys, click on the link above.  And as always, thanks for reading, thanks for listening, and ROCK ON!

GO GET 'EM - WEEK EIGHT!

Sometimes picking up free agents can be like helping out children in Africa who don't have enough food or quality drinking water. If you can't see them you don't recognize they're there. So, this week, as we look at the Waiver Wire, don't forget the Colts, Lions, Jets and Texans!

QBS YOU MAY WANT TO GO GET!
Matthew Stafford is back. A lot of people have forgotten about him since Shaun Hill came in a lit up the fantasy world. In only five weeks, Shaun Hill was the 9th ranked QB - imagine what Matthew Stafford could do!
Carson Palmer is in a passing offense! I'm finally ready to admit it! 412 yards and 3 TDs is tough to argue with.
Ryan Fitzpatrick I know he's a Bill. I know he was beaten out by Trent Edwards at the start of the year, but all he does is score - every week!
SO, IF YOU'VE GOT KYLE ORTON (WHO COULD BE ON THE WAY BACK TO NORMALCY WITH A RUNNING GAME) OR TONY ROMO (WHO COULD BE REALLY HURT), AND YOU NEED SOME QB HELP - MY FIRST PICK WOULD BE RYAN FITZPATRICK - GO GET 'EM!

RBS YOU MAY WANT TO GO GET!
LaGarrette Blount came out of the coach's doghouse to get 11 carries for 72 yards. If you want the back-up Buc, he should be there for you!
Donald Brown may be gone, but Mike Hart is probably available! With Joseph Addai possibly injured and Donald Brown always possibly injured, it never hurts to have a running back on a high scoring team!
If you're a gambling man, Clinton Portis may come back after the Redskins Week 8 bye. The only problem - he may not ever get on the field again....if that's a concern for you!
SO, IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO GET AN RB ON YOUR BENCH WHO MIGHT HAVE SOME VALUE IN THE NEAR FUTURE - MY FIRST PICK WOULD BE MIKE HART - GO GET 'EM!

WRS YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO GET!
With these guys, isn't it easier just to get one off the Waiver Wire when you need them. But, if you really want to GO GET ONE, check out...
David Gettis If you believe in a team that hasn't scored more than two touchdowns in any game, this might be your guy!
Nate Burleson This could just be crazy Matthew Stafford love, but this offense, which has been explosive, could be really explosive!
SO, IF YOU PICKED UP DENARIO ALEXANDER OR JUST REALLY HAVE SOME BAD WR SPOTS, MY FIRST PICK WOULD BE....WAIT TILL YOU REALLY NEED ONE!

TES YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO GET!
I've been saying for weeks, it's time to GO GET Owen Daniels. Especially with Clark and Finley gone, Daniels is at the one-year mark of recovery from the ACL and had 75 yards two weeks ago!
IF YOUR TIGHT END HAS GONE BYE-BYE, OR YOUR BRENT CELEK IS LOSING HIS BFF AT QB, MY FIRST PICK WOULD BE - OWEN DANIELS. GO GET HIM!

KICKERS AND DEFENSES YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET!
If you're like me, you don't spend a lot of time seeing which kickers and defenses are on your Waiver Wire. But, with all these Bye Weeks, it may be the time to check them out. I was amazed this week to find out the #1 kicker in our league was dropped because they needed a roster spot. So, give it a look. You may find gold...and if you do - GO GET 'EM!

Now, back to the kids in Africa. Just like you have to actually click on the button to pick-up one of these people you find on the Waiver Wire. You've got to do something once you notice the problem. It's not enough just to see! If you wanna help, check out DOC'S WORK IN ETHIOPIA in our "WE'RE INTO JESUS" section to the right! We can just live our lives out day by day - living only for ourselves....or we can make a difference in the lives of others and GO GET 'EM!

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL, I LEARNED IN WEEK SEVEN!

It has been said that 99% of the stuff that comes out of my mouth is crap (Can I use that word on a Christian Fantasy Football website? Yeah, Bill Hybels does!) Anyway, that's pretty much true. I love sarcasm - which was one thing I remember from college. They said a teacher should never use sarcasm in the classroom. Good advice, but I do it anyway! So, going against all my college professors, here's a sarcastic look at Week Seven!

1) I told you Justin Gage would hinder Kenny Brit's performance!
2) Just yesterday, my bro and I were trick-or-treating with our kids and I said, "Darren McFadden hasn't played in a couple of weeks and hammy's are tough to predict - I see him getting 44 fantasy points!
3) Of course you wouldn't play Tim Tebow in a 45 point game!
4) I'm sure Ochocinco's 10 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown had nothing to do with him having two weeks to yap it up with the coaching staff!
5) T.O. another good game - yeah, I saw this at the start of the year!
6) When Carson Palmer is facing Matt Ryan, you can just about guarantee 6 TDs between them every time.
7) Mike Wallace was 100 yards ahead of Hines Ward on the year. I thought he'd almost catch him this week.
8) Do you think Big Ben has had any affect on the Steeler offense?
9) The Bill should have beat the Ravens - that's not sarcasm surprisingly!
10) Anyone who has played fantasy football in the last five years knows, You can always count on Lee Evans!
11) Ryan Fitzpatrict to Steve Johnson - a lot of people had that combo on their draft sheets!
12) When you think of a running back breaking a big one for the Chiefs, I instantly think Thomas Jones!
13) The fact that Dwayne Bowe has played against the two worst passing defense teams the last two weeks has nothing to do with his four TDs in those games.
14) Ricky Hodges might be a nice RB2 for the rest of the season!
15) Most of the experts had Colston going until Week Seven to get his first TD.
16) MJD can catch passes - who knew?
17) The Bears game was awesome! (I can't even write about that)
18) Montana to Rice = Moore to Givens!
19) Thanks for doing this last year (when I had you on my team) Frank Gore!
20) There is no reason tht a guy who did not play - coach's decision - last week wouldn't be the team's leading rusher the next.
21) Tampa's Mike Williams will be the best MWub from here on out!
22) Max Hall should not have hit a wide-open Larry Fitzgerald for a touchdown.
23) Beanie sure has been backing up his words ever since he complained two weeks ago.
24) That Ryan Matthews trade I made is sure looking good right now.
25) I'm sure the two other owners in our league who cut Brandon Jackson are very happy to see him get 16 fantasy points today!
26) See, I told you, Deion Branch wasn't a one-week wonder!
27) No one saw this coming - Randy Moss having a positive effect on Percy Harvin's value!
28) And now for the one percent - I love Sundays! I love waking up and turning on the radio! I love talking to people during the day about the games. I love looking at the fantasy scoreboard! I love doing the podcast and writing this crap! I love it. Thanks for being a part of it!

DOC'S THREE TIPS FOR PICKING YOUR STARTERS IN WEEK 7!

On his weekly "Football Church" Lexycast (rockonfootball.lexy.com) Doc gave us three tips for picking our starting line-ups. They're the same three things you do when you make any decision. 1) Follow your guide. In life, that's the Bible. In fantasy football, it's the stats from the actual games. 2) Talk to people you trust. Again, in life it may be people who you know hear pretty clearly from God. Those may be the same people in Fantasy Football, and you should have an "expert" or two you like to listen to or read. 3) Go with your gut! Listen to the Spirit and then Go For It! That works both ways!
Therefore (I'm trying not to say "So"), this week, I'm gonna give you the stats and some things to think about, but you decide who's Rock Solid and who's Shifting Sand. Or even better......let God decide. He cares about every part of your life - even Fantasy Football!

BENGALS VS FALCONS
1) T.O. had two great weeks before the bye!
2) Chad Ochocinco has had two weeks to get in the ear of Marvin Lewis about the number of targets he's getting.
3) The Offensive Line is banged up and Atlanta has only given up 21 points in two games at home (although it was against the Cardinals and 49ers).
4) Michael Turner has only 1 TD this year and only two games over 50 yards.
5) Cinci is only averaging 1 passing TD given up per game. That would mean Roddy White, Michael Jenkins OR Tony Gonzalez would get it.
DOC'S PICK: Falcons / TBONE'S PICK: Falcons

REDSKINS VS BEARS
1) People have said Washington can't stop the pass. Here are the QB's they've faced so far: Romo, Schaub, Vick, Rodgers, Manning and the QB I loved - Sam Bradford! Jay Cutler isn't as good as any of those.
2) The Bears may look to run more screens on third down to avoid pressure. I think that means Matt Forte has over 100 yards of total offense.
3) Donovan McNabb is from Chicago and it seems like good QBs always tear up the Bears.
DOC'S PICK: Redskins / TBONE'S PICK: Bears

RAMS VS BUCCANEERS
1) The Bucs have given up 140, 140 and 150 yards the last three weeks against the run.
2) The Bucs have given up one long touchdown each week to a receiver.
3) Chris Ivory went off last week - strong runner, not as quick. Sound like anyone on the Rams?
4) Billy Bajema got mentioned on another podcast...and I have his rookie card. Thanks BigMoyz!
5) The Rams are not a great match-up anymore.
6) I think Mike Williams will have a TD this week.
7) The Bucs want to get someone else involved in the running game. Earnest Graham is back and if Blount or Lampkin are activated you may want to pay attention.
DOC'S PICK: Bucs / TBONE'S PICK: Rams

49ERS VS PANTHERS
1) These two teams are a combined 1-10!
2) Carolina gave up a whole ton of yards to Matt Forte. Frank Gore is better than Matt Forte.
3) Carolina is actually good against Wide Receivers and Tight Ends.
4) Matt Moore is starting.
5) Steve Smith had 12 and 13 points in his first two games - with Matt Moore.
6) Steve Smith is back!
7) The Panthers only average ten points per game!
8) It may be time to drop Jonathan Stewart!
DOC'S PICK: 49ers / TBONE'S PICK: Panthers

BILLS VS RAVENS
1) I won't bore you with all the stats, but the Ravens kill the Bills....IN EVERYTHING!
2) The Ravens have given up 4.3 yards per carry to RBs this year. Too bad the Bill Right Tackle is hurt.
3) Ryan Fitzpatrick and Steve Johnson have hooked up three times in their last two games - not physically!
4) Ryan Fitzpatrick has the ugliest beard I've seen in quite some time...and we had Kyle Orton in Chicago not too long ago!
5) The Bills give up an average of 182.4 yards / game on the ground!
6) The Bills have the 30th ranked passing offense, and Ed Reed may come back!
7) The Bills threw a Halloween party for 200 youngsters and their family...and didn't even have one of their "stars" attend.
8) Andy McCann and I totally break down this game on new segment DAVID VS GOLIATH. It'll be on iTunes and Lexy this Saturday.
DOC'S PICK: Ravens / TBONE'S PICK: Ravens

EAGLES VS TITANS
1) Kevin Kolb has completed 73% of his passes in the last two weeks.
2) Remember the preseaso stat about Brent Celek getting exactly 104 yards and 1 touchdown each time Kolb started. This could be the Week! I put him as a Top 5 TE.
3) Jeremy Maclin is the #4 Wide Receiver in fantasy.
4) Our prayers go out to DeSean Jackson and his family.
5) Jason Avant is taking his place.
6) Kenny Brit has scored a TD in each of the last four games, and Vince Young is back. But so is Justin Gage, and TBONE has a feeling he cuts into his touchdowns. In fact, I predict Brit will not get one this week...and his yards haven't been awesome!
7) Kenny Brit has been a Top 20 WR the last 3 weeks.
DOC'S PICK: Eagles / TBONE'S PICK: Titans

JAGUARS VS KANSAS CITY
1) The Jags have given up the same amount of passing touchdowns as the Texans (14), which leads the league.
2) Last week, Dwayne Bowe had two touchdowns against the Texans.
3) Matt Cassel threw for three!
4) Matt Cassel's touchdowns per game this year: 1-0-3-0-3.
5) I think Jamaal Charles has at least two touchdowns in this game - he's only had one all year!
DOC'S PICK: Chiefs / TBONE'S PICK: Chiefs

STEELERS VS DOLPHINS
1) Mike Wallace has 100 more yards and one more TD than Hines Ward.
2) Last week Wallace had 6 targets, Ward had 8.
3) Big Ben is back!
4) The Steelers are trying to not kill "The Sharder"
5) Tony Sporano wants to be more balance on offense - last week they were perfect, 39 runs, 39 passes. I don't think you can do that this week.
6) Even when they did run more last week, it did not affect Brandon Marshall or Devone Bess.
7) The Steelers are only averaging giving up 11.4 points per game. That's only one touchdown out there for someone.
DOC'S PICK: Dolphins / TBONE'S PICK: Steelers

BROWNS VS SAINTS
1) This is the only week that we did not say, "The Browns are better than people think" on the podcast!
2) Colt McCoy may be the starter again. Last week, with McCoy, Ben Watson was the #1 TE in fantasy!
3) Peyton Hillis should be healthy again.
4) The Browns have given up 1 rushing touchdown and 11 passing touchdowns this year.
5) The Saints are good at passing!
6) I was willing to wager a 44ouncer and piece of pizza that Colston would score a touchdown this week.
7) Chris Ivory should get the carries again, and the Browns are giving up over 100 yards / game on the ground.
DOC'S PICK: Saints / TBONE'S PICK: Browns

CARDINALS VS SEAHAWKS
1) I believe in Max Hall!
2) The Seahawks give up over 300 yards / game vs. the pass.
3) Tim Hightower catches a lot of screens, and the Seahawks have been getting pressure on the Quarterback!
4) The Cardinals have given up 41 points twice on the road.
5) After they traded Deion Branch (why is there an "i" in his name?), Pete Carrol challenged Mike Williams to be there #1 WR. The next game he had 123 yards!
6) Justin Forsett and Marshawn Lynch were college teammates, and the Cardinals give up 140.8 yards per game on the ground.
7) Those two things were unrelated!
DOC'S PICK: Cardinals / TBONE'S PICK: Seahawks

PATRIOTS VS CHARGERS
1) Danny Woodhead's touches are increasing!
2) Legadu Naanee hadn't practiced by Thursday. Malcolm Floyd should be out. The Patriots defense has given up 11 passing touchdowns. Patrick Crayton and Craig Davis should be the starting receivers.
3) Craig's nickname is "Buster"
4) The Patriots have only given up one rushing TD. I still like Ryan Matthews enough to trade for him this week.
5) Brandon Meriweather has a good attitude about these fines (see COOL QUOTES FROM NFL PLAYERS above)
DOC'S PICK: Patriots / TBONE'S PICK: Chargers

RAIDERS VS DENVER
1) Jason Campbell had a 10.7 rating last week.
2) Zach Miller scores way less points when Jason Campbell is the QB.
3) Both Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski have been limited in practice.
4) Darren McFadden has not practiced fully yet either. If they both play, Tom Cable said he will split the carries with Bush.
5) Denver rushed 37 times for 145 yards last week.
6) Oakland gives up a lot of rushing yards.
7) Oakland also gives up a lot of passing TDs - 12!
8) For his Hail Mary, Doc said Tim Tebow would score at least one more touchdown this week. He was even talking about starting him on.
9) Doc is crazy!
DOC'S PICK: Broncos / TBONE'S PICK: Broncos

VIKINGS VS PACKERS
1) Brett Favre is going back to Lambeau. He played there for a long time. Last year, he threw 7 touchdowns against the Pack.
2) The Packers defense has been decimated by injuries.
3) The Vikings secondary could use some work.
4) Greg Jennings went off last week!
5) Keep this name in mind: James Starks. Not this week, but for the future!
6) The Packers only wins this year have come against the Bills, Lions and Philly when Kevin Kolb got hurt after working with the #1's all preseason!
DOC'S PICK: Packers / TBONE'S PICK: Vikings

GIANTS VS COWBOYS
1) Osi Umenyora has had 7 sacks in the last three games. DeMarcus Ware has had 6.
2) Brandon Jacobs has 4 touchdowns in his last three games, and he's getting more and more touches.
3) Romo has 5 int's in the last two games, and sounds dejected and confused after each loss. I might call that pressing.
4) Roy Williams has 14 catches and 5 touchdowns in his last three games!
5) Miles Austin should unlearn how to leap frog!
DOC'S PICK: Cowboys / TBONE'S PICK: Giants

You got all that? Now, take it, talk to your trusted friends and then trust God. Good luck in Week 7!

PLAY YOUR STUDS?????

I was raised to do three things: Love your neighbor as yourself, put family first and PLAY YOUR STUDS in fantasy football. And for the first 39 years of my life, I've done a pretty good job of doing all three.....until today. Two weeks ago I really wondered if I should play my studs all the time. As you look at the rankings, week after week, players ranked outside the Top 40 routinely finish above players in the Top 10.
For example, this week I was considering benching Maurice Jones-Drew (my first round pick, #3 overall) for Ryan Torain. I didn't do it because MJD was my STUD. Ryan Torain outscored him by like 17 and I lost by 3. I also played Miles Austin. Now, if I would have gambled on Mike Williams of Seattle I would have had ten more points. Kevin Kolb was 19 spots higher than Tom Brady. Over and over you see players ranked lower finishing way higher....than even your STUDS.
Obviously, you don't want to be the guy who sits Andre Johnson when he goes off for 30 fantasy points. And most Sundays I think you stick with the STUDS. But, if you get a feeling, if you have a hunch, if you feel like doing something crazy - GO FOR IT! The Holy Spirit gives us the freedom to do some crazy stuff every now and then. So, what I'm saying is this: I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO NOT PLAY YOUR STUDS. Do with it what you will!
Now for everyone who likes to see if I'm improving in my picks - like anyone really cares. I'll say it again - YOU CAN'T PREDICT THIS STUFF! Here's how I did in Week Six. Getting better....except for Tight Ends - (Ben Watson #1 + Antonio Gates goes down = tough week)
POSITION..... WEEK 4......... WEEK 5 ***......... WEEK 6
QUARTERBACK....248 / 9.9.....278 / 11.2........240 / 9.6
RUNNING BACK...836 / 16.72...1112 / 22.24....632 /12.64
WIDE RECEIVER..1502 / 30.4...1373 / 27.46....1335 / 26.7
TIGHT END......165 / 8.25....254 / 12.7........252 / 12.6

*** = I picked names out of a hat.
The scores reflected are total points and # of spots, on the average, I was wrong about any individual player. To get my points, I rank the Top 20 QBs, Top 20 RBs and WRs, and the Top 25 TEs. Then, I find the difference of where they finished for the week (on ESPN scoring) compared to where I ranked them. If I did not have them in the Top 20, 50, 25 and they finished there, I take the next available spot, 21,51 or 26 and add the difference to my score.

GO GET 'EM - WEEK SEVEN!

OK, I started Maurice Jones Drew, Michael Bush and Jamaal Charles instead of Ryan Torain yesterday.....and lost by 22 points (the exact number Torain had), so I may not be in the best state of mind as I type this out. However, it did remind me of my new fantasy strategy. Put all the players that you are thinking about starting in a hat, and then pick out the winners. That's how they did it in the book of Acts when they needed a Waiver Wire pick-up for Judas. Good enough for the disciples, good enough for me. And, in case you need a Waiver Wire pick-up yourself (see how I tied it all together), check out who's still available:

By now, you've probably heard that Tim Tebow scored a touchdown! So, this week, I'm going to judge these players in two categories - B.T. (Better than Tebow) and A.T. (Acquire Tebow instead). I know this is probably sacrilegious on many levels, but oh well, we're doing it!

QUARTERBACKS: Seriously? There's only one - Tim Tebow!

RUNNING BACKS:
Derrick Ward: A.T.
He has 14, 7 and 12 fantasy points his last three games, and has scored a T.D. in each one. That's what scares me - if he doesn't score, he doesn't score. I don't want a guy like that on my team.
Danny Woodhead: B.T. He's consistent, Tom Brady likes him, and he getting a lot of touches on a high-powered offense. 10, 10, and 11 points the last three games!

WIDE RECEIVERS:
Dwayne Bowe: B.T.
At first, I was going to write that I didn't trust his passing situation, but then I checked the schedule. Jacksonville, Buffalo, Oakland, Denver, Seattle, Arizona - it's nice. So, if someone got fed up and dropped him, GO GET 'EM!
Roy Williams: B.T. 23, 14, 14 in his last three games. He's on a good passing offense. You have to make a spot for this guy - even if you don't like him personally!
Deion Branch: B.T. 12 targets and 15 points, not bad for his first game. See Danny Woodhead!
Mike Williams, SEA: A.T. Don't remind me! How do the Bears give up 120 yards to this guy?
Michael Jenkins: B.T. Not a bad first game. It seems like Atlanta has finally found someone to take some of the load off of Roddy White, 11 targets and 99 yards (that's the same amount of targets and more yards than Roddy)
Robert Meachem: A.T. Can you really count on any New Orleans receiver on a week-to-week basis. If you had to pick one, and I'd only get one, it would be Lance Moore...and Reggie Bush is coming back.
Denario Alexander: A.T. Isn't this just the kind of guy you'd love to have on your fantasy team? Why not? Never played a game in the NFL. It's just a fun pick-up!

TIGHT ENDS
Aaron Hernandez: A.T. The only thing that worries me about AHer (ok, that doesn't ring as well as ARod), is his lack of touchdowns - 0 to be exact! But see Danny Woodhead above!
Brandon Pettigrew: A.T. Two things scare me. One, he has one less target than Tony Scheffler for the year. Two, Matt Stafford is coming back....and will he look more to Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson?
Owen Daniels: B.T. Two of his next three games are against San Diego and Jacksonville - one bad against the Tight End, one bad against anything thrown in the air. He looked healthy in the fourth quarter and may be back to the 2009 Owen Daniels! GO GET 'EM!

TOP GO GET 'EMS FOR WEEK 7: Danny Woodhead, Roy Williams, Owen Daniels, and.....TIM TEBOW!

Thanks for reading and I'd love to hear your comments. I'd also like to share that as I'm typing my team ust lost by 3....MJD = 6 pts, Ryan Torain = 22 pts. Ugggghhhh! But not as bad as the guy who lost by two because Chris Johnson had a 35 yard touchdown run in garbage time. Gotta love fantasy football!

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL, I LEARNED IN WEEK SIX

Today at church we talked about doing what you do best for "such a time as this." Basically, we asked the question - what has God given you to do, and is there something that needs to be done, THAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING! Well, I thought there might be some people who stepped up for "such a time as Week Six!"
LIKE WHAT IF WE NEEDED A FANTASY EXPERT? Well, I did say Dwayne Bowe would be a Top Five receiver and Owen Daniels would have a big game. And I also said not to worry about Matt Schaub or Andre Johnson. Sorry, I get so many of these things wrong, I had to give God some props when something actually comes true!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED SOMEONE TO BE WHO WE DRAFTED THEM TO BE? Thank you Greg Jennings - 136 yards and a touchdown. That's more like it!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED OUR QUARTERBACK...BACK?Big Ben comes in to throw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while improving the worth of Mike Wallace (90 and 1TD), Hines Ward (54 and 1TD) and Heath Miller (1TD). Watch out Eagles you may even put Kevin Kolb in this category!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED SOMEONE WHO CAN PUT UP MONSTER STATS...WITH ONE ARM? C'mon Calvin Johnson, 146 yards and a touchdown after Stefania Bell said he'd only be using one hand.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED TO KNOW WHO WAS THE REAL MIKE WILLIAMS? Today, it was the one in Seattle. He lit up the Bears for 123 yards!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED TO INTRODUCE SOME PEOPLE TO THE LARGE RECTANGLE WITH A GOALPOST IN IT? OK, again no touchdowns for Johnny Knox, Marques Colston, Jamaal Charles, or Michael Bush. And Brandon Marshall would have been a monster if he would have found his way there.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED A STUD WHO HAD NEVER PLAYED A DOWN IN THE NFL BEFORE? I would have said this was Colt McCoy, but.....Welcome to the NFL, Denario Alexander! First game ever, he gets 72 yards and a touchdown and helps the Rams beat the Chargers!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED ANYONE WITH AN ARM IN DETROIT?It doesn't matter who their QB is, the Lions light up the scoreboard! I hope Matthew Stafford doesn't mess this up.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED TWO PLAYERS FROM THE SAME POSITION, ON THE SAME TEAM TO BE FANTASY RELEVANT? Way to go Ahmad Bradshaw (14pts) and Brandon Jacobs (15pts). You were only outdown by two tight-ends. Ben Watson (14pts) and Evan Moore (8pts) for Cleveland - this is probably the first time ever two tight-ends from the same team have been in the Top Ten.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED SOMEONE TO STOP TAKING RODDY WHITE'S BALLS? Michael Jenkins came back and actually had more yards (99-83) than our favorite receiver!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED MORE KEVIN SMITH LOVE?You can bet I'm gonna be talkin' smack about KSmith's 4 carries for 17 yards compared to Jahvid Best's 12 for 16.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED THE LEADING FANTASY RECEIVER TO HAVE MORE THAN 8 YARDS? Hakeem Nicks, what happened?
WHAT IF WE NEEDED A ROOKIE WHO CAN RUN FOR 150 YARDS? Where in the world did that come from Chris Ivory? 154 yards!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED SOMEONE TO STOP STEALING TOUCHDOWNS FROM MY GUY, MILES AUSTIN? I don't know who I'm angrier at, Roy Williams or that ref who got Austin for the Offensive Pass Interference on a 68 yard TD.
WHAT IF WE NEEDED THE GREATEST COACH EVER TO LEAD HIS TEAM TO VICTORY?Way to go Mike Singletary! You are well on the way to the playoffs my friend! By the way, if you NEED A STUD, Frank Gore just goes off every week now!
WHAT IF WE NEEDED A NEW #1 FANTASY TIGHT END? Billy Bajema went off and had three catches for 34 yards. With Antonio Gates going down, I think we are seeing his replacement as the best TE in the game!
FINALLY, WHAT IF WE NEEDED A HERO, A ROLE MODEL, A MAN WHO CAN INSPIRE US ALL BY RUNNING IN FROM ONE YARD AWAY WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED! Listen below:

BREAKING NEWS.....GOD TALKED TO ME!

I've been reading a book by Bill Hybels called The Power of a Whisper. In it, he talks about listening to God and responding. Now, most people would probably get job advice, tips on how to improve the family, and maybe even ways to become a better person. Not me! God talks to me about Fantasy Football!
After we did our Weekly podcast, and typed our article for the podcast, God reminded me that Aaron Hernandez may be the reason the Patriots traded Randy Moss. Then, he also let me know that my prediction of a Chief receiver in the Top 5 might be correct, but I might have the wrong receiver. I'm not clear on this one (still practicing my whisper listening), but Dexter McCluster....maybe this is a crazy game where he doubles his output from the year.
For all of our thoughts, keep reading below....and for more thoughts from God, just listen!

October 14, 2010

YOU THINK WE'D BE BORED TO DEATH....WELL, MAYBE YOU ARE!

You may find this shocking, but this is not my full-time job. I know, crazy huh? But, I don't think the 13.34 we made last month from Ad-Sense would go very far to help pay the bills. In reality, I've got two kids, a wife, a substitute teaching job, volunteer at the homeless shelter, and a house that is falling apart. So then, whatever hours are left, I devote to fantasy football - way too many hours (ask my wife!). You'd think after a couple of months of preseason stuff and now analyzing games each week, we'd be sick of it. As I told my daughters this week, "No Way Jose!" (That's actually the name of a restaurant in Lombard, IL). I'm more excited than ever....and I'll try to give some better fantasy advice. Last week, I personally wrecked two guys weeks - Sorry! But I'm ready to redeem myself. So, email me your questions! Please, I know God forgives me, but I'd like to help someone out here! WEEK SIX....

SEAHAWKS AT BEARS
It was reported this week that Jay Cutler has had five concussions in his career - that's one more than the number Todd Collins caused me last week! I like Jay to come back strong here. Seattle is the fifth worst team against the QB and WR, so as long as he can see straight, Cutler should put up some numbers. However, the Bears did show they can actually run-block last week, so they might want to try that a few times. Did you know Matt Forte has had two games above 30 points this year.....and two below 4? I suspect you'll see more of a mean (my daughter Grace has been working on that in math) for the rest of the year. Less big or small, and more in the middle. As for the Seahawks, who cares? No, really, who cares? You don't know what to expect out of Marshawn Lynch yet, and only Ahmad Bradshaw has rushed for over 100 yards against the Beloved. However, I do wonder if John Carlson gets more targets with Deion Branch gone?
DOC'S PICK: BEARS / TBONE'S PICK: BEARS

DOLPHINS AT PACKERS
Brian Moise will be at this game! The only reason I bring that up is he may be one of the only people who read this thing! The Pack is real banged up. I'd be surprised if Aaron Rodgers doesn't play...and not only because Matt Flynn has 17 more passes than me in the NFL. He's a gamer, but without Finley I don't see a huge game for a guy coming off a concussion. Although he hasn't been great without one, maybe this is a good thing. I do know he'll have another one if Greg Jennings doesn't get the ball more. Reports are that he is frustrated, so look for a few more passes to come his way. And look for a whole bunch of passes to go Brandon Marshall's way. The Pack has been generous to receivers all year - Moss, Johnson and Knox all had big games. And, like I said, the Pack is banged up. You might even start Ronnie Brown (I've got him Rock Solid this week!!) and Ricky Williams in this one. Why not Chad Henne? You could probably do worse!
DOC'S PICK: PACKERS / TBONE'S PICK: DOLPHINS

CHARGERS AT RAMS
I love Sam Bradford! And hey, look who's back - Vincent Jackson. But not for about four or five weeks so don't get too excited. I was about to say Ryan Matthews was going off until I found out that the Rams have only given up 1 rushing touchdown this year. But, Norv has said he's the starter and should get the most carries. Here are two fascinating facts for you: 1) Phillip Rivers is tied with Peyton Manning for the #1 QB in fantasy. 2) Malcolm Floyd is the 4th best WR in fantasy. Crazy, huh? St. Louis does not have anyone in the Top Five, but did you know Danny Amendola has the 7th most targets of any Wide Receiver? The Chargers are ranked 2nd best against the receiver, but Bradford should look to Amendola or Laurent Robinson (shameless ISU plug) since his BFF is gone (that Bradford to Clayton bandwagon didn't last long, did it?)
DOC'S PICK: CHARGERS / TBONE'S PICK: CHARGERS

RAVENS AT PATRIOTS
Who is the world is Tom Brady going to throw to? I'm kind of interested to see what happens. The only guy I would start is Wes Welker, but it's not my team and I don't have any Patriots anyway, so you do whatever you want! Here's what worries me about Joe Flacco. Last week, the Ravens had 31 points....and NO passing touchdowns. They are still a running team. So, although the Pats have given up at least 2 passing touchdowns to each QB this year, I think Flacco is Shifty Sand. However, and this may sound crazy, but look for Anquan Boldin to go over his 8 yards from last week - like at least 72 yards and a touchdown more!
DOC'S PICK: PATRIOTS / TBONE'S PICK: PATRIOTS

SAINTS AT BUCANEERS
Did the New Orleans Saints really just sign Julius Jones or was that a bad dream? No offense Julius, we still love you! That is a shame because it probably means Thomas is still sitting at home on Sunday...and this is a nice match-up. The Bucs have given up 143 and 144 yards rushing the last two weeks. Could LaDell Betts break out? This may be his last chance because Reggie Bush may be back by next week. Speaking of being back, welcome Garret Hartley - he's back as the starting kicker! As for the Bucs, I love Mike Williams. Really, I've only seen one highlight (the touchdown from last week) and that has turned me into his biggest fan. But, the Saints are the stingiest team (I've been wanting to use the word "stingiest") against the WR. So, unless you think Cadillac can drive it home or Freeman can break free (Yeah, I just said that!), it's another Bucless Sunday.
DOC'S PICK: SAINTS / TBONE'S PICK: SAINTS

LIONS AT GIANTS
Pablo Sandoval could be a key in this series - oh wait, wrong Giants! Lot of points going to be scored in this one....by the Giants. Here comes Hakeem Nicks - the #1 WR in fantasy! Ahmad Bradshaw is healthy - he's Rock Solid! Eli Manning is Doc's pick to be a Top 10 QB this week - he's Rock Solid! And Kevin Boss may even get a score. But, can the Lions keep up? Their offense has been Rock Solid, but I believe in this "last two weeks" Giants D. Jahvid Best is still dealing with the toe, Calvin Johnson is a bit nicked up and Shaun Hill may wish Matthew Stafford was already back. However, Brandon Pettigrew has sneakily (Not a real word, don't use it in school kids!) been putting up numbers: 10,4,9,8 points for a TE - not bad!
DOC'S PICK: GIANTS / TBONE'S PICK: GIANTS

FALCONS AT EAGLES
Kevin Kolb enjoy! This could be your last time on the field for a while. Don't you kind of hope he has one of those 300 yard, 4 touchdown games so Andy Reid has to sweat it out a bit! I don't see it happening. In fact, I don't see big games for Maclin, McCoy or Jackson. Celek is an interesting play though. And for the future, Jerome Harrison could have some value on this team. One, LeSean is already hurt. Two, Harrison fits into what the Eagles do. Good move both GMs! Of course, you've got to love The Burner for Atlanta. The Eagles - not very good against the Running Back. And is it possible that with Michael Jenkins back, Roddy White is even better?
DOC'S PICK: FALCONS / TBONE'S PICK: EAGLES

BROWNS AT STEELERS
The first start for a quarterback that many of us fantasy players stored away on draft day and now can't wait to reap the rewards - Oh yeah, the Colt McCoy era has begun! And Big Ben is back too! Let's make this quick, unless you find out for sure Peyton Hillis is playing and very healthy and made a deal with the Steelers to take it easy on him, don't even think about a Brown. However, if Massaquoi ends up with some nice points during garbage time - you heard it here first! Now, for the Steelers, I like Hines Ward. Big Ben has more work with him, can trust him and the Browns have given up 7 TDs in 5 games to Receivers. Hines Ward has 8 against them in his career - the most against any opponent. Combine that with the fact that they haven't let a Running Back score a TD yet, and "The Sharder" only had 115 yards total last year against them - you get a 44 OUNCE WAGER with me taking Hines Ward over "The Sharder" Oh, and don't start Ben just yet!
DOC'S PICK: STEELERS / TBONE'S PICK: STEELERS

CHIEFS AT TEXANS
Hail Mary: Dwayne Bowe will have more than 10 fantasy points and I think I picked him to be a Top 5 WR this week. And God Bless Todd Hailey for saying all the right things after D "as in Drop" wayne Bowe had a tough game. I really think they go right back to him, and we all know - YOU CAN PASS ON THE TEXANS! Now running is not so easy, so I don't see Thomas Jones having a lot of carries; however with his ability to catch the ball I still think Jamaal Charles is Rock Solid! On the Texans side, Andre Johnson is healthy and had 142 yards against the Chiefs last year - Rock Solid. And please stop worrying about Matt Schaub (who can add another day to their life by worrying...or something like that, it's in the Bible, look it up!). Arian Foster though, why do I get the sneaky feeling that Derick Ward might not have gotten the memo that Foster was the next Payton! You'll hear it here first, and probably last, Owen Daniels Top Ten TE this week...and everyone will rush to the Waiver Wire to pick him up!
DOC'S PICK: TEXANS / TBONE'S PICK: CHIEFS

RAIDERS AT 49ERS
Samurai, you gotta beat the Raiders! Please, for all your brothers at Willow Creek - it's the black and silver, the symbol of evil in the NFL! Call me crazy, but I like the 49ers to go off here - Frank Gore (Rock Solid every week!), Michael Crabtree (Rock Solid), Vernon Davis (Rock Solid), and even Alex Smith (Rock Solid - 2 for 2 with touchdown drives since Singletary went off on him!). As for the Raiders, I sure hope McFadden doesn't play. No offense DMac, but I have Bush and McCoy ran wild on the 49ers last week. I think the only other Rock Solid Raider is Zach Miller. He's the #4 fantasy TE right now -you have to start him!
DOC'S PICK: 49ERS / TBONE'S PICK: 49ERS (We love Mike Singletary!)

JETS AT BRONCOS
If Kyle Orton is a Top Ten QB this week - forget it! You start him every week! I am a little worried about Brandon Lloyd this week, but it doesn't look like, even if he starts, Reevis will be healthy. So, Lloyd shouldn't end up stranded on an The Island! Knowshon may actually be a "Yes Show" for this one - Welcome back, here's the Jets D for you! When you think Jets, you think throwing that pigskin around! What? Last week Mark Sanchez had 44 pass attemps! I guess this is the new "Santonio Holmes" Jets! I like Mark Sanchez here. For some reason, I see him hitting Braylon Edwards for more points than Holmes or Keller (I'm officially worried about him the rest of the year!), and LT should be Rock Solid almost every week!

COWBOYS AT VIKINGS
I've got to tell you, I've been writing this for over an hour - they may get a lot worse from here on out, but how would you tell?
I can't believe one of these teams is going to be 1-4. The Vikings have definitely played more like a 1-4 team. Brett Favre has been horrible....and I"m not just talking about his texting! His saving Grace might be God for the later, but for the former it's Randy Moss. Randy's got a 21 yard per catch average against the Cowboys and has 11 TD's in 7 games against them. As for Romo, I like him to be ok - not set any personal records again! The interesting guy here is Felix Jones. Will Dallas continue to give him the carries? If they do, can he keep up the numbers on a good Viking D? I don't know, that's why I'm interested to see what happens. Do you want me to predict the future?
DOC'S PICK: VIKINGS / TBONE'S PICK: COWBOYS

COLTS AT REDSKINS
Doesn't it sound cool - Colts vs Redskins? I don't know why, but it does to me! It probably does to Peyton Manning too! Washington has had a little trouble stopping the pass, and Peyton is coming off a poor game - for him! That's a bad combo! The only problem may be deciding which receiver to start. Garcon and Collie should play, but are a little banged up. The only healthy one is the guy hwo has put up the biggest numbers the last two weeks - I'd play Reggie Wayne. The running situation isn't any easier. It could be Addai, or Brown, or Hart - you'll just have to stay glued to your favorite fantasy website until Sunday. Don't you have to love Ryan Torain for the Redskins? As bad as the Redskins are against the pass, the Colts are against the run! You'd think they want to keep Peyton off the field and give him plenty of action! And I said it last week, I'll say it again: Start Cooley over Marcedes Lewis (especially since I'm playing the guy with both!). Finally, don't start this guy but keep him on your radar: Anthony Armstrong!
DOC'S PICK: COLTS / TBONE'S PICK: COLTS

TITANS AT JAGUARS
Finally, we're almost done! If you've read this far, send us an email, you should get something! Here's your fantasy analysis - start Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones Drew. That's it! Ok, maybe a Kenny Brit against the Jags secondary - but that's really it. Now, can I just say that I'm glad I don't have ESPN so I can't be disappointed that I won't see this game. Really? Titans vs Jags on national T.V. This has to be some kind of mistake.
DOC'S PICK: TITANS / TBONE'S PICK: JAGUARS

Whew, I'm winded. I'm sore! It's time to sit back and watch some football! Thanks for reading, and really, I'd love to help you out this week. I promise to give out Rock Solid fantasy advice. Feel free to leave a COMMENT or send us an EMAIL with your fantasy questions.
