ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL....I LEARNED IN WEEK 11!

It's midway through the first quarter and I need Michael Vick to score two points for a Playoff berth!  My thoughts may be a little discombobulated (wow, I'm even impressed I used that word!)  Oh well, let's try to review this incredible Sunday.  MICHAEL VICK AT THE TWO...TOUCHDOWN!  I'M IN THE PLAYOFFS!  CLINCHED A BIRTH WITH THE WIN!  YES!
Now, that caps off an awesome Sunday!  With the Bears already in the win column, I listened to almost 5 hours of football on the radio.  A special thanks to ESPN radio for having that show with Freddie Coleman.  I love that!  While my daughters were in the Playland, I was listening to Freddie recap the morning games.  The he got me through cleaning up the living room.  Later, thanks to WSCR-Chicago, checked out the Indy / New England game while I finished the house cleaning and took a trip to Wal-Mart.  And now, it's the Sunday night game.  There is just something cool about listening to football on the radio, is anyone else with me on this?  I kind of like being able to do somethind productive while following everything that happened.
And what a day to be following everything that happened!  Let's start with my PLAYER OF THE DAY!  BRIAN ST. PIERRE.  Sure, he was only 13-28 and threw more touchdowns to Ravens then he did to his Panthers.  But, last Sunday, he was a stay at-home dad.  A week later he's a starting QB in the NFL.  He gives hope to us all!
  • And we had some great reminders why we call these people studs!  Ray Rice had 131 yards and a touchdown.  He hasn't done it every week, but it's getting more and more likely.  Maurice Jones Drew had 76 total yards on their last drive including the game-winning touchdown and came through with 28 fantasy points.  That's three 100 yard games in a row.  He started Week 11 only 79 points from being the #1 RB I predicted he would.  Chris Johnson had 130 yards, Michael Turner had one more than that with a touchdown, and Peyton Hillis beat them both.  You've almost got to start putting him in a seperate category with Arian Foster (143 yards and 2 TD's against the Jets - yeah, I sat him in one league!)....Ben Roethlisberger had over 30 fantasy points.  I guess you shouldn't punch him in the face.  Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning each threw four touchdowns.  We've all seen those names on top of the rankings list before, even if one of them threw an INT at the END of a big game again!  Another one of those guys, threw three of those touchdowns to Greg Jennings.  That's right - the same guy I bet Doc would have less fantasy points than James Jones, who had a nice game, but not a 33 point type game!  There goes another 44 ouncer! Can we start include Steve Johnson in this list too?  3 more touchdowns for the guy who was already the 13th ranked WR!  And Randy Moss....oh wait, he didn't quite show that he's a stud!
  • I also think we may need a new category - the DWAYNE BOWE GUYS!  These are guys who just keep on producing.  By the way, I loved Dwayne Bowe in the preseason and then gave up on him.  In fact, I dropped him off my team - I shouldn't have given up on him.  Mike Wallace is one of those guys!  Every week, over 100 and 1 TD!  We may even have to put Fred Jackson in that category if he keeps this up.  2 more TDs and a second straight Top 2 RB ranking, but let's see him do it against someone that has more than two wins.  Mike Williams, TB, is another guy who just scores on the road.  5 of his 6 TDs now are away from home.  Even Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis came through with 96-1.  Another guy I'm glad I told my buddy to get like five weeks ago!  Don't forget about LaGarrette Blount!  Even with Cadillac (don't forget about me either) Williams (can a guy have two nicknames, and can a writer use two parentheses back-to-back?) catching a TD, Blount still put up 82 yards!
  • Surprise, surprise!  Cedric Benson is back!  My Hail Mary this week was for Bernard Scott to outscore CedBen.  He only missed that by 20 points (unless you get negative points for going backwards - Scott had a total of -9 yards!).  Thomas Jones had two touchdowns and 71 yards.  Good to see that again!  And where has Chris Ivory been?  One week, even Julius Jones had more yards than him.  Not this week!  And we know Chris Cooley and Marques Colston owners are finally happy - especially with Colston!
  • You know who I like in fantasy?  Those guys you just know what you're gonna get every week.  Like Jamaal Charles!  Every week, he's over 10 points - usually doesn't get into the end zone, but puts up a whole ton of yards!  And LT, I thought for sure, Shonn Greene would start to overtake him.  But, Tomlinson gets his 100 total yards - 60 more than Greene!  Two guys you might not have predicted would be here are Jon Kitna, 3 passing TDs and one running.....for a 38 year-old.  I'm 39 - do you know how hard it is to run 25 yards without large men chasing you?  And Mike Goodson.  Two straight weeks with over 100 yards.  I'm not sure Jonathan Stewart gets all the carries when he comes back.  Just in case you haven't noticed, Ben Obomanu had his second game with at least 60 yards.  Pete Carrol also just named him the starter.  If Matt Hasselbeck keeps throwing for 366 yards, Mike Williams can't get them all.
  • There were a lot of things I was interested to see in Week 11.  Would Beanie Wells play and how much?  He played, but not much.  I'm still holding out hope that he's gonna help me in the fantasy play-offs!  Would Felix Jones keep up the stats in the Jason Garrett era?  He had 82 yards.  That's good enough for me to wish he was still on our Waiver Wire. With Kevin Smith on IR (moment of silence) and Jahvid Best having toe problems, would Maurice Morris be a nice pick-up for the end of the year?  71 total yards in game one, that's a good sign!  Who would win the Darren McFadden 5 yards a carry vs. Steelers #2 run D battle?  Give that one to the Steelers.  DMac had thirty total yards.  Would Keiland Williams get a lot of carries even with Portis back?  He did, but a lot of that had to do with Portis's groin feeling no so healed!  After getting benched, then signing the big contract, how would Donovan McNabb come out?  366 yards, but still only one touchdown!  Would Sidney Rice be back to last year's Sidney RiceHe said he probably wouldn't be able to play the whole game, so let's not pass judgement on his 3-56 for at least another week.  The only problem is that in another week, the Vikings may have really given up.  Would James Starks get any action for the Packers? In the blowout, Dmitri Nace got 12 carries - none for Starks!
  • UH-OH, STUD ALERT!  Santonio Holmes has had two nice games in a row!  And today he became the go-to guy!  And if you had any hope of Dustin Keller coming back, forget it!  I think we've seen enough Jets football A.H. (After Holmes) to realize Keller and his 7 yards is about what you're gonna get!  Tom Brady looks like he's back.  Don't let the 186 yards fool you.  He was dealing in the first half!  Brandon Pettigrew loves Shaun Hill...or Shaun Hill loves Brandon Pettigrew.  It doesn't really matter - they work well together.  Are you still worried about Ryan Fitzpatrick?  Rodgers, Manning, Brees....and Fitzpatrick - they all threw 4 TDs this week!  Austin Collie went out again (it's a shame!), but Reggie Wayne stepped up with 107-1.  They even called a timeout in a close game to make sure he stayed in.  He's still the guy Manning looks to.
  • Some random things you might want to take note of.....Nate Burleson had 97 yards and a touchdown!  2 out of his last three games have been over 100 yards with a TD!  Larry Fitzgerald had 90-1.  Yeah, that TD, and a good amount of yards was late, but they still count, and he's more consistent that last couple of weeks.  You don't want either of the Seattle running backs!
  • Now this is crazy!  Miles Austin and Dez Bryant combined for 15 yards and ........... 3 TOUCHDOWNS!  Last week, I started Joel Dreesen and he did nothing.  This week, I had Zach Miller back, and he did nothing.  Dreesen had 106 yards!
  • God bless Jimmy Graham!  He's the basketball player that is playing football - a la Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez!  Today, without Jeremy Shockey, he had 5 catches for 72 yards!
Another great week of football, and it's not over yet!  I think I'll go take a walk, listen to the end of the Sunday Night game, and see if more Eagles can drop Michael Vick passes!  Thanks again for listening, reading, whatever!
